Hi everyone,

I would like to start of by saying a big thank you to every single one of you who has brought me to 200 followers (or 221 currently). I know the stats aren’t everything, but it is such an amazing feeling when you do see how far you’ve come, which is why I decided to share some of my stats with you before going a bit behind the scenes in celebration of this milestone:

Total comments: 419

Total likes: 781

Total number of views: 2 827

Total number of visitors: 935

Total number of posts: 38

Now to one of the most unanswered questions: how do I design my headers? You can debate about how true that fact is, but just to make things quicker, I’ll go a head with it anyway:

My four go to program/websites for creating headers are:

  • SparkPost
  • Pages/Word
  • Camera Roll
  • And a royalty free image website called pexels

The actual how to:

I first search for an image relating to my post (or one that just looks visually pleasing) before saving it to my camera roll, then edit the sizing to ‘blog post header’ in SparkPost before saving the resized picture once again to my camera roll.

In pages/word I then add an opaque square on top of my image before -again- saving it.

I then re enter spark post to write the most important part- my title, and website name in the font AMATIC before saving it for the final time in my camera roll.

Although I usually design my headers in multiple programs (if multiple counts as two), SparkPost has many options to make your life a whole lot easier, by just doing it in one (shown by how I created the header for this post).

the option ‘style suggestions’ is very useful

So apparently creating headers isn’t as easy as you think, with the amount of time I went in and out of every program (wouldn’t it be good if every time I entered spark post I actually got the spark to create a new post).

Thanks once again for all your support!
